Disagreement among Christians
There are many differences of opinion about the End Times among those who follow Jesus, and whether the Rapture of the church is true, and even, Is Rapture in the Bible?
My own opinion is that we are living in the hiatus between Daniel's 69th "week" and the 70th "week," spoken of in Daniel 9:24-27.
After this time of the Gentiles, sometimes called the "Church Age," we Gentiles (and Jews who know Jesus as their Savior) will be whisked away, our time done, and then there will be the completion of the last "week" (seven years) of the time of the Jews.
Of that seven years, both the book of Daniel and the book of Revelation indicate that the last three and a half years (a time, times, and half a time) will be a dreadful time of terror for all the world.

I Thessalonians 4:13-18
13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

A helpful book
If you are new to the concept of the Rapture, but wish to know more, there is a small, but brilliant book by the late author Chuck Missler, explaining how to understand this issue in light of the prophecies in the book of Daniel and Revelation, and the writings of Paul. (You can find this little gem of a book, The Rapture, as a Kindle book for just 99 cents on Amazon.)
Chuck says that contrary to what we may have thought, that there are many "types" or "patterns" of believers being taken away to heaven and not dying a physical death, such as Enoch, and Elijah. Patterns are used to foreshadow the future and impart truth in scripture, he says, along with direct prophecies.
