Dragon Tales: The Very First Tale of All
TRUE dragon tales begin in the Garden of Eden, with Adam and Eve.
A simplified retelling of the Fall of Man and Woman in the Garden, this song speaks in words a child can understand, about Satan's tempting of the Woman.

He lifted himself above the stars of heaven
Satan was lifted up in pride, deceiving himself that he would be like "the Most High."
How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

The dragon desires the misery of others
He deceived himself, but having fallen from his high place among the angels, he seeks to deceive and drag all others down, especially those that God created in His own image - mankind. Satan even tries to prejudice God against His own children, the believers. Remember the story of Job!
And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. Revelation 12:10
When Satan is thrown down from heaven and no longer has access, he knows his time is short.
Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! But woe to the earth and the sea; with great fury the devil has come down to you, knowing he has only a short time. Revelation 12:12
That time on the earth will be a terrible time, the time of Jacob's Trouble, so violent that if God did not shorten the time, there would be no one left alive.
For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. Matthew 24:21-22
How do we know the dragon/serpent is Satan?
In the book of Revelation, John recalls the first devastating interaction of humans with the dragon when he refers to that wicked one as "the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan". An angel will seize upon the dragon:
"And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years..." Revelation 20:2.
