How do you do confession? In the Bible verse used in this song, John explains how simple confession is, and how each child of God can come before Him to be cleansed of daily sin.
Yes, very true.
Psalm 103:12
"As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us."

But we're not there yet! Our position is that of a child - we will always be in the family of God.
But our daily behavior, our "walk" as Christians, is a process of sanctification, of becoming more like Christ.
When we know we have sinned, the remedy is to go to the Lord and tell Him. He will also "cleanse us from all unrighteousness." Those are the sins we don't even know about!

In John 13, Jesus illustrated the difference between salvation and sanctification when He washed the disciples' feet. At first, Peter objected, but then,
9 "Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head.
10 Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all.
11 For he knew who should betray him; therefore said he, Ye are not all clean."

Luke 15:11-32 King James Version
11 And he said, A certain man had two sons:
12 And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living.
13 And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.
14 And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.
15 And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.
16 And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.
17 And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!
18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,
19 And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.
20 And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.
21 And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.
22 But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:
23 And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:
24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.
Though he was "out of fellowship" with his father, the son was still beloved, and his father longed for him.
Especially, perhaps, if we are young in the faith, we may fail to meet God's standards frequently. And we will need to be "washed with the water of the Word" - knowing the Bible is the only way to know what God requires of us.

Like some of you, I've been playing the piano since early childhood, and have added a few other instruments along the way, plus an interest in arranging and composing music.
I also happen to love the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Christian worldview that portrays The Great War in the heavens, in which we here on earth are destined to be a part.
